Our honeymoon was such a dream! We worked really hard and saved every penny so we could go somewhere warm and take advantage of going down south for our 2nd reception. But before we went on our tropical getaway we headed to Miami for a couple days. We finished picking out some of the last minute details for our FL reception, fabric colors, flowers, food choices, and of course the cake! Travis had his first taste of Cuban food, and of course, he totally fell in love with it...Pan con bistec, batido de mamey, croquetas, ropa vieja, arroz moro, yuca, huarapo & don't forget the platano maduro!

We had a lot of fun adventures while in FL, first stop of course was the beach! We got there and made camp, but off in the distance we could see a huge grey cloud coming straight towards us. After about an hour we decided to head for the car as rain began to pour down. People ran to their cars and vacated the beach, but only 15 minutes later the sun was shining all day and we had the entire beach to ourselves! The water was perfect temperature, and we got a great tan, and layed out as pelicans flew by and the waves crashed on the shore.

We also stopped by several times to visit my uncle Tulio where Travy had his first taste of fresh coconut water straight from the tree & mangos con chile! Mmmmm!

We took a trip to Flamingo Gardens to check out the Florida wild life. We saw all sorts of animals like owls, flamingos, peacocks, iguanas and alligators.

Eventually the day finally came to go on our cruise!!! It was both our first time and I was literally dancing as we stood in the line to check in, how could I resist?! They were playing pitbull ;) The cruise was AMAZING! All the food you can eat, king size bed with an ocean view room, and all sorts of shows and activities on the boat. We even saw dolphins one morning!

First stop on the cruise was Key West! Travy & I rented bikes and biked around the whole island, taking pictures, hopping into the water, and eating my favorite Key Largo treat, Key Lime Pie on a stick dipped in chocolate, YUM!!!!!

Next day on the cruise we finally arrived in Cozumel, Mexico! What a view!

Cozumel was a beaut! They say that Cancun is the Las Vegas, and Cozumel is the Hawaii of Mexico, so true! Here we are when we arrived at Puerto Maya.

We took an excursion off the cruise to the Mayan ruins on the Island, a drive around the entire island and snorkeling on a private beach. The Mayan ruins were fascinating, we learned about their underground cavern system, and how the Island was dedicated to the Goddess of the Moon Ixchel who also represents fertility. The tour guides teased us a lot, since we were newlyweds, that we came to the wrong part of the Island if we didn't want kids yet, haha!

Then we drove along the southern coast of the island until reaching a private beach home where we found all sorts of conch shells and crabs on shore and went snorkeling on the worlds 2nd largest barrier reef after the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. It was gorgeous! All sorts of fish, lobster, anemones and ocean life. Wish we would've had an underwater camera, our goal is to get a go-pro for our next adventure.

Then it was back to the port for a couple more hours of shopping, eating authentic Mexican tacos and watching the sunset on the white sandy beach.

The last day of the cruise was a day at sea and there was never a boring moment with all the events on the ship. We got a lovely treat from room service for our honeymoon, chocolate covered strawberries, that was probably one of the best things of the cruise, we got free room service for breakfast every morning cause we were so lazy :)

We went to a comedy show, played mini golf on deck, went down the huge water slides, and enjoyed our last dinner with this awesome group of people who were seated at our table. They were the funniest group of people, all young couples, and we got along so great!

Alas, our cruise came to an end, so many great memories we are eager to go on another one!

That same morning we came back from our cruise we had to immediately get ready for our reception because it was that very night! It was a gorgeous reunion of all my closest friends and family in FL and church leaders who practically helped raise me as I grew up from primary to my youth years. I got a little teary eyed as Travis and I had our 2nd "First Dance" and I looked around the room full of all the people I love most, I was overwhelmed. But it was a beautiful night and one I'll never forget with tasty food, lots of pictures, and like any hispanic wedding LOTS OF DANCING!!!

The last couple days in FL we spent visiting family and sight seeing. We visited the Ft. Lauderdale temple and did a session, drove to Miami Beach where I was born and visited the Holocaust Memorial, and lastly there were the Gardens at Vizcaya, the huge estate of a wealthy man in the early 1900's who's family turned it into a Museum.
I couldn't of asked for a better honeymoon! We had such a blast in the sunshine state and we can't wait for our next vacation!
