Bella’s Quince

A Quince is an anticipated moment in any young Latina girl’s life. It's a number you’ve been anxious to reach and a cultural event you’ve been anticipating your entire life! It's symbolic of the transition from a girl to a woman with many lavish customs like changing from flats into heels, dancing with your father, and a choreographed performance. But mainly, it's a huge excuse to throw a party with family and friends! I can't believe how big my cute little niece is! It seemed as though just yesterday I was holding her as a new born.
There was so much to plan and prepare for the big day: pick a date, book a venue, rent the dress, cake, decorations, and so many other details! I had a blast planning it all with her and helping my sister out.
The day of the Quince Bella got all dolled up with a trip to the salon, getting her hair and make-up done, and putting together the last finishing touches of her look. As soon as she was ready, there was screaming and kids yelling her name outside, it was all her friends! My mom had surprised Bella by getting them all picked up in a limousine which they got to ride around in for a couple hours and get ice cream before the party!

The party itself was beautifully held in one of the reception rooms at Thanksgiving Point. Even though there were some slight mishaps like the hem of Bella's dress getting ripped as soon as she got to the party and the DJ not speaking a lock of English, we still had a blast stuffing our faces, dressing up at the photo booth, and dancing to the nay-nay!

It was a good time with family and friends and to see my little niece go through this life milestone although she'll always be a little girl in my heart <3
