A Sister Missionary Again

With a huge change for sister missionaries who, in areas with the dangerous Zika virus, are now being allowed to wear pants for every day proselyting and being encouraged to use long skirts for Sunday meetings, I was contacted to model some new outfits to update the dress & grooming standards website for missionaries! This has been one of my life-long dreams since I knew one of the other models on the page and wondered how she got on there!

It was one of the funnest experiences to go in for a fitting, pick out some outfits, and get my hair and make-up done to be a part of this photo shoot. Although I must admit, as a former missionary myself, I never looked this cute and would of never worn half of those adorable outfits because they were made of such delicate materials that they wouldn't of lasted a week in Chile!

Being that I was also in a Mormon Message and modeled once for the Ensign, I've had a lot of people ask me how I get involved in these projects for the church. Do I have special connections? Am I related to a General Authority? Truth is, you don't have to be an elite socialite of the Mormon community to get an "in" on these opportunities, it's actually as simple as making a profile!

The website to go to is https://www.lds.org/topics/service/create/casting?lang=eng You simply log-in with your LDS Account and create a profile listing your talents and abilities (in my case, standing there and smiling) and that goes for all talents like languages, singing, dancing, acting, gymnastics, rock-climbing, and even juggling! When they are looking for people with specific talents, they simply filter the profiles according to what they need and frequently send out mass e-mail for different opportunities, some even pay!

So there's my trade-secret on how to become a Mormon celebrity ;)
