Another one of our weekend get-aways! And what a fun one at that! My mom was in Oakland visiting a cousin, so we decided to tag along and take advantage of a weekend escape.

We flew in on a Friday night, so our first actual day of fun was on saturday. That morning we woke up bright and early to head out to San Francisco! Probably a terrible idea because the traffic was the worst I'd ever been in my entire life! Luckily, some girls in a car next to us were jamming out and blaring Beyonce so I rolled down my window and started chair-dancing in the front seat with them! Hahaha! I just love making friends with strangers, can you tell?
After an hour of fun in the car, our first stop was breakfast at a bakery called "Tartine" that came recommended from a food blogger. We got the sweet rolls, a lemon tart, a ham and cheese croissant, and a chocolate cake-bite. It was all absolutely delicious! Definitely worth the long line out the door in the rain...Oh yeah...Did I mention that it rained practically ALL day?! But we didn't let that dampen our fun.

Once our stomachs were full our first stop was the historic Painted Ladies, you know, those really cute Victorian homes on the intro of Full House? What I didn't know was that San Francisco has these houses all over the place! So I've yet to understand why these particular ones have been dubbed the Painted Ladies and are so famous, but none the less, we had to take a picture at this iconic spot!

Then we were off to Lombard street, the most crooked street in the world! We took a fun drive down and then we walked up and down it to take pictures. Such a neat place!

After these hot-spots, we went to lunch at a ramen bar called Waraku. This was the REAL stuff people! Not the microwavable cardboard square you're used to eating during a late night study-sesh. It was beyond delish, and now I'm on the hunt for REAL ramen in Utah!
The rain stopped for a bit so we headed to our next and most iconic land mark of all, the Golden Gate Bridge! We took a scenic walk down to a boardwalk on Fort Point, took pictures, and enjoyed the breath-taking architecture of that misty bridge. It was one of those things you've seen so long in pictures and movies that once the real thing is in front of you, you can hardly believe it’s real!

Then we were off to Ghiradelli Square, where you get a free chocolate and can buy all sorts of chocolate to your hearts delight! We got an ice cream sundae and chocolate chip cookie because who doesn't like dessert before dinner?! There were a ton of cute gift shops and after looking around for a bit we headed back to Oakland for some shopping at Marshalls and dinner at CPK. A fun-packed first day!

Sunday morning we slept in a little since the Spanish ward didn't start until 1 p.m. However, when we got to the chapel we realized that we went to the wrong building and that we were actually just in time for the Samoan ward! So we decided to stay and make the best of it. We stuck out like sore thumbs, but it was fun singing the hymns in Samoan!
We decided to take it easy on Sunday, so Travis and I went to the Japanese Tea Garden, probably my favorite part of the trip. It was one of the most peaceful places I've ever been in my life. The gardens were full of beautiful Japanese architecture, bonsai trees, zen gardens, streams and koi fish. I could've stayed there the rest of the day; A MUST SEE if you're ever in the San Fran area.

Afterwards, we went back to Ghiradelli square for dinner with a beautiful view of the San Francisco bay. So breathe-taking and a romantic time with my lover guy <3

To kill more time we went back to Oakland to walk around a mall that was there. All the stores were closed, but it was just a nice time window shopping and talking about how we didn't want to go back to work the next morning.
Overall it was a great weekend escape and we're dying to make another trip and check out Alcatraz which was unfortunately closed that weekend. Here's to another Roberts adventure, and to many more!!!
