The Holi festival happens every year in Spanish Fork’s Hare Krishna Temple. A beautiful white marble palace surrounded by rolling green hills, furry llamas, and mountain ridges; basically the Taj Mahal of Utah. Holi signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, and end of winter and is celebrated by throwing colored chalk, dancing, and singing the Maha Mantra:

“Hare Krishna Hare Krishna

Hare Hare Krishna Krishna

Hare Rama Hare Rama

Rama Rama Hare Hare."

To me, Holi has been a great way to immerse myself in a diverse culture and celebrate their beautiful and elaborate traditions. Travis and Nathaly have never been before so we got some white shirts at D.I., tied on a bandana, and had the time of our lives saying so-long to the Utah winter!
